We are recruiting a Care Assistant, known as a Homemaker, to help residents at Abbots Wood Manor receive person‑centred care. As a Homemaker you will support and care for residents, living out the compassionate values of the Hamberley Care Homes portfolio.

Working Pattern: 12‑hour shifts with alternate weekends on a rota basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized, non‑timetabled care for each resident, including administering medication, assisting with toileting, and arranging meals.
  • Help residents maintain a positive daily routine by arranging family visits, trips to the beauty salon or local shops.
  • Support residents in pursuing personal interests and maintain home‑like comfort.
  • Collaborate with the care team to help residents achieve their personal goals and maintain quality of life.

Qualifications: We value enthusiasm, empathy and dedication over specific experience. Prior experience as a healthcare assistant, carer or similar role is welcome but not required. We provide full training and induction, including NVQ qualifications and further clinical training if you wish to specialise in dementia or nutrition.
