The Role
As Workshop Manager, you'll take charge of the GSE workshop, leading from the front to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. You will:
- Lead, manage, and motivate the GSE workshop team
- Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment to minimise downtime
- Ensure all work meets strict safety, compliance, and airport regulations
- Drive efficiency, organisation, and operational resilience
- Collaborate with airlines, ground handlers, and internal teams
- Improve workshop performance and streamline processes
- Support operations during peak periods and unexpected challenges
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing a busy workshop (aviation experience ideal)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to perform under pressure
- A confident leader who can inspire and develop teams
- Excellent communication skills across all levels
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance
- Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
- City & Guilds/NVQ (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Plant or HGV experience
- Knowledge of diesel & electric vehicles, hydraulics, and welding
