About the role

Your new company Hays Senior Finance is working with a dynamic organisation seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its finance function and provide high-quality financial insight to support strategic decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, KPIs and board‑level commentary across a small group of companies.
  • Budget, forecast and conduct variance analysis.
  • Manage working capital and oversee accounts payable, receivable and payroll processes.
  • Prepare detailed financial statements, support audit activities and ensure full statutory compliance.
  • Improve financial processes and enhance reporting efficiency through systems.
  • Partner with operational teams to drive performance and profitability.
  • Manage a team of 4.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to influence decision‑making across the business.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proactive and detail‑oriented approach.
