Controls Engineer (PLC / Automation) required for an industry leading supplier of manufacturing machinery with a reputation of global excellence. This is a great opportunity to join a company with a worldwide presence who are truly committed to developing their staff.

Candidates will need experience with PLC, HMI and motion programming, ideally with robotic applications, but can come from any industry background. The successful Controls / Automation Engineer will be based from the company’s site in Gloucester where they will work within a small team programming PLC, HMI and Motion Control applications for automated machinery. You will work on both new and existing machinery so will be involved in both programming from scratch and modification.

The role will also require international travel to client sites, and you can expect to travel four to five times per year, for two to three weeks at a time. You will typically travel alongside mechanical service engineers and will ensure any issues that appear after the machinery is rebuilt on customer sites are resolved to customers' satisfaction.
