A client is seeking a Deployment Engineer to support the upgrade of laptops to Windows 11/O365. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and managing the upgrade process, ensuring a smooth experience for end users and efficient device deployment. The users will bring their devices to the tech bar where assess its condition, perform the upgrade and return the device to the user before giving them some initial set up support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact users to confirm and remind them of their booking before receiving their laptop for the upgrade.
- Coordinate the provision of temporary laptops for users during the upgrade process.
- Manage the build process for laptops and ensure proper configuration.
- Facilitate the return of original devices from users once the upgrade is complete.
- Handle any non-standard devices by escalating to the 3rd Line Support team for resolution.
- Update the playbook and processes as needed to accommodate new device configurations.
- Provide clear communication and updates to users throughout the process, ensuring minimal disruption to their work.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience with Windows 10/11.
- Familiarity with Device Build and Application Deployment processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and user communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and elevate where necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, user-focused environment.
