Escape Recruitment is working with a growing high-tech manufacturer in Glasgow who is looking to appoint a Supply Chain and Purchasing Lead. This is a hands-on role covering procurement, planning, logistics and inventory management. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of supply chain activities whilst growing with the business. You will be responsible for keeping materials flowing into production and finished goods out to customers. This is a broad, hands-on role focused on doing the work, not just managing it.
Responsibilities
- Placing purchase orders and managing supplier relationships
- Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers (including building a local supply base)
- Planning materials and production using MRP and BOMs
- Managing inventory, stock levels and traceability
- Organising inbound and outbound shipments (including international)
- Handling goods in, stores and issuing to production
- Working closely with engineering, quality and production teams
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain, procurement and material/production planning
- Background in a technical or complex manufacturing environment (e.g. electronics, engineering, medical devices, aerospace or similar)
- Comfortable working with MRP systems and BOMs
- Strong understanding of inventory control and planning
- Experience dealing with high-value or technically complex components
- Someone practical, organised and happy in a hands-on role
This is a great opportunity to join a small, collaborative team, work closely with engineers and technical teams and play a key role in shaping how things are done in Supply Chain as the business evolves.
