We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Site Manager to lead and oversee all mechanical works on a large scale commercial construction project. This role is critical in ensuring that mechanical installations are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating site operations and managing subcontractors and labour teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all day to day mechanical site operations, including HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and BMS installations.
  • Lead and coordinate mechanical subcontractors, labour teams, and specialist suppliers on site.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure all mechanical works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, building regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor project progress against programme schedules and provide regular updates on milestones and site performance.
  • Enforce health & safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture across site operations.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and audits to ensure compliance with company and client standards.
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational issues, providing practical solutions to maintain programme targets.
  • Manage labour allocation, materials, plant, and equipment efficiently to maximise productivity.
  • Attend and lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings as required.
  • Ensure accurate site documentation is maintained, including progress reports, permits, and RAMS.
  • Support project delivery from installation through to commissioning and handover.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on commercial construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services including HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and BMS systems.
  • Excellent understanding of construction site operations and mechanical project delivery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction programmes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification or mechanical engineering background.
  • SMSTS certification essential.
  • First Aid certification required.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate site activities effectively.
