Our client is recruiting a permanent Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The role is based in Inverclyde, with a Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm schedule and a hybrid working model: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. The office is conveniently located near a train station and offers on‑site parking.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journals and support the month‑end close process
- Perform and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and statutory financial statements
- Support external and internal audit processes and ensure audit readiness
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements within the finance function
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records across the general ledger
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting standards
- Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Confident using Excel and finance systems/ERP tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Proactive mindset with ability to improve processes and work collaboratively
