Based in Inverclyde, our client is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis for 6-12 months. The hours of work are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. The location is accessible by public transport, with on-site parking also available. The role offers hybrid working: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end close activities including journal preparation and posting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies
  • Preparation of management accounts and support with statutory reporting
  • Assisting with internal and external audit requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant, or 3-5 years’ experience in a similar finance role
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial controls
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle R12 preferred) and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, resilience, and a collaborative working style
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines in a fast paced environment
