The Opportunity

They are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong PHP/Laravel expertise to take ownership of a growing suite of digital platforms. This is a unique opportunity for a self‑motivated developer who enjoys autonomy, problem‑solving, and shaping scalable technology solutions from end to end. The individual will also ideally have additional AI skills with Cursor or a similar coding agent. You will lead both backend and frontend development, collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders, and play a key role in driving the long‑term technical vision of our platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Development and Technical Leadership
    • Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of multiple Laravel‑based platforms
    • Shape and maintain the long‑term technical roadmap
    • Translate business and user requirements into scalable technical solutions
    • Identify opportunities to implement AI, automation, and workflow improvements
  • Systems Architecture & Integration
    • Design and maintain secure, scalable, and maintainable system architecture
    • Develop and manage API integrations and cross‑platform data flows
    • Oversee authentication, identity management, and service communication
    • Ensure effective backup, auditing, and disaster recovery processes
  • Secure Development & Compliance
    • Apply secure‑by‑design principles across all development activities
    • Support vulnerability management, encryption, monitoring, and access control
    • Ensure systems align with GDPR, ISO27001, and accessibility standards including WCAG 2.2 AA
    • Maintain incident response and business continuity processes
  • DevOps & Infrastructure
    • Manage CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes using Bitbucket
    • Optimise and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, RDS, and S3
    • Improve monitoring, observability, reliability, and deployment automation
  • Collaboration & Delivery
    • Work closely with operational, product, and delivery teams to build user‑focused solutions
    • Collaborate with Product Owners on backlog priorities, acceptance criteria, and technical feasibility
    • Contribute to agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Client & Partner Engagement
    • Support technical discussions during onboarding and implementation projects
    • Work collaboratively with external technical partners and stakeholders

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in full stack development with strong PHP/Laravel expertise
  • Strong frontend development skills including Blade, SCSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Solid understanding of MySQL, backend architecture, and API development
  • Experience using Cursor to enhance development productivity and automation
  • Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, and S3
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Bitbucket
  • Advanced Git/version control knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects end‑to‑end
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Experience working within agile environments using tools such as Jira and Confluence

Desirable

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards including WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Understanding of inclusive and accessible design principles
  • Interest in AI‑driven development and automation technologies
