Secondary School Food Technology Teacher

Location: Hemel-Hempstead

Start Date: September

Contract type: Full-time

Pay: In line with MPS/UPS pay scale

Supply Desk are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate Food Technology teacher to work in an associated school in the area of Hemel-Hempstead, starting September. This role is full-time, within a vibrant and diverse school, requiring the individual to have passion and fantastic subject knowledge to impart upon their students, all whilst upholding the school's strong culture of support and inclusivity.

The ideal candidate will be required to deliver engaging lessons to students across KS3, KS4 and KS5. The ability to plan engaging practical Food Technology lessons, as well as lessons on nutrition, will be key to the candidate and students' success.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging practical Food Tech lessons across KS3/4/5
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons on nutrition across KS3/4/5
  • Tracking and reporting of students' progress
  • Contribution to extra-curricular activities
  • Co-operation with colleagues for the development and planning of curriculum
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teaching Status (Desirable)
  • Experience teaching Food technology at Secondary School level
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Food Technology
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Knowledge and promotion of safeguarding
  • Knowledge of health and safety in order to maintain classroom cleanliness and the well-being of students
