The predicted salary is between 25000 - 32000 £ per year.

We are looking for an experienced Fitter to be based in our Client's production facility at their Kidderminster site. The successful candidate will have some mechanical knowledge ideally from commercial vehicles, plant hire sectors or the body building industry. A willingness to learn and ability to work to time constraints and customers specifications is essential, along with a working knowledge of using power tools, hydraulics, and electrics. MIG welding experience is not essential but desirable.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Production Manager in developing a high standard of Refuse vehicles.
  • Ability to read drawings and carry out works in accordance with drawings supplied in build packs.
  • A working knowledge of using power tools, hydraulics, electrics and completing MIG welding.
  • Working in a timely manner producing finished products to build process deadlines.
  • Ability to raise issues during a build process and record any changes.
  • Actively capturing and recording information to be standardised and used in future builds.
  • Support sub-contractors while on site.
  • Monitoring build process and liaising with Production Manager so appointments for sub-contractors can be arranged.
  • Finalising all relevant paperwork.
  • Assisting with the preparations for vehicle inspections and testing.
  • To carry out and complete other duties as required in line with the companies needs.

Whilst fulfilling the role the successful candidate will be expected to maintain good housekeeping practices and demonstrate responsibility for their personal health and safety and those around them, including risk assessing their own work to ensure safe working practices are being carried out and using Personal Protective Equipment as and when appropriate. The ideal candidate will be professional and self‑motivated with a good customer service ethos and the ability to solve problems alongside a desire to develop and learn. Communication skills are vital for this role, both in dealing with external and internal customers. The ideal candidate must be confident & flexible enough to work alone and as part of a team. Good organisational skills, time management and administration skills are also vital.

Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 7am - 5.30pm (39 hours)
