A respected fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Door Inspector to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Fire Door Inspector to work across residential, healthcare, education and commercial buildings throughout the Midlands and wider UK.

The successful Fire Door Inspector will join a specialist passive fire protection team delivering fire door inspections, compartmentation surveys and compliance reporting services for housing providers, contractors and private sector clients. This Fire Door Inspector role offers long-term progression and varied project exposure.

The Fire Door Inspector's Role

The appointed Fire Door Inspector will carry out detailed fire door inspections across occupied and live environments, ensuring compliance with current fire safety legislation and industry standards. The Fire Door Inspector will be responsible for:

  • Conducting fire door inspections and compliance surveys
  • Identifying defects and remedial requirements
  • Producing detailed technical reports and photographic evidence
  • Supporting compartmentation and passive fire inspections
  • Advising clients on fire safety compliance matters
  • Liaising with contractors and building managers
  • Supporting Building Safety Act compliance projects

The Fire Door Inspector will also contribute towards maintaining high technical standards across the consultancy's passive fire division.

The Fire Door Inspector

The successful Fire Door Inspector should ideally have:

  • Experience undertaking fire door inspections independently
  • FDIS qualification or equivalent desirable
  • Strong understanding of passive fire protection systems
  • Knowledge of current fire safety legislation and guidance
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
