Role
As Financial Controller you will lead financial management, reporting and cash control across all Lochaber‑based entities. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of monthly management accounts, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management while managing and developing the on‑site transactional finance team. You will be the main point of contact for external auditors, ensuring integrity and accuracy of financial systems and compliance with group and regulatory requirements. The role also carries a strong focus on continuous improvement, enhancing management reporting, developing business systems, and building effective working relationships with senior managers and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA or CA qualified with experience from a similar Financial Controller or senior finance role.
- Strong technical foundation covering management accounting, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management, and understanding of regulatory requirements such as GAAP, tax and industry‑specific standards.
- Effective communicator capable of engaging confidently with staff, senior management, auditors and external stakeholders, with a proactive problem‑solving mindset, ability to work autonomously and use initiative.
- Strong IT capability essential, particularly advanced Excel skills; experience of Microsoft Dynamics or a comparable ERP system considered advantageous.
