Finance Analyst Role – Remote/Office Hybrid Working – Progressive Position

Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a rapidly growing services group in Ross‑on‑Wye, Herefordshire to recruit a dynamic & ambitious Finance Analyst. The role reports directly to the FP&A Manager and supports business partnering across a variety of departments, assisting with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting and process improvement.

Key Duties

  • Lead finance contact for various departments, acting as a business partner including workforce planning.
  • Work with departmental heads to ensure tight financial controls of expenditure.
  • Produce the finance KPI suite and support monthly/quarterly reviews.
  • Challenge budget holders on variances against forecasts and ensure significant variances are reported.
  • Create business reports that provide commercial information to aid decision‑making and analyse financial/commercial trends to improve performance.
  • Lead the budget/forecasting process for assigned business areas, undertake assessments on risks/opportunities and examine detail within P&L performance.
  • Support the FP&A Manager and other team members with month‑end schedules, management accounts packs and ad‑hoc projects/duties.
  • Develop duties and take on more responsibilities as you grow within the business.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Recent finance or business graduate, or a CIMA/ACCA/ACA student looking to transition into a Finance Analyst role.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner internally at all levels.
  • Highly numerical with a keen eye for detail and strong MS Excel skills.
  • Quick learner who can manage workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo, contributing to process improvement, and using own initiative.
  • Experience dealing with complex & extensive data sets would be advantageous but not essential.
