About the Role

This hands-on role supports the maintenance and repair of Dorset Council's fleet vehicles and plant, ensuring safety. Based primarily at the Ferndown depot, the technician will carry out servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs across a diverse range of vehicles. The role includes occasional roadside support and collaboration with internal teams to maintain high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, inspections, repairs, and MOT preparation
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs across a diverse fleet
  • Complete accurate records and comply with health and safety standards
  • Communicate with drivers from other services
  • Keep the workshop clean

Skills & Experience

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Motor Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Must provide own toolkit (tool allowance provided)
