This well-established consultancy works closely with local authorities and private sector clients, delivering a wide variety of building surveying and project work across Devon and the Southwest. Projects range from small maintenance works through to schemes valued up to half a million, including traditional heritage buildings, listed properties, schools, and modern commercial units.

Despite being part of a large national group, the regional office maintains a friendly, collaborative, and close-knit working environment. In this role, you will manage projects from inception through to completion, taking responsibility for specifications, tenders, planning applications, contract administration, and project delivery. You will oversee a variety of technical surveying projects while also mentoring junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships. The role offers a balance of office, home, and site-based working across Devon and Somerset.

With that, the ideal candidate will have strong building surveying and project-running experience, good technical knowledge of buildings and construction, and confidence managing projects autonomously within a consultancy or similar environment. The Role:
  • Managing a range of building surveying and project work from start to finish
  • Producing specifications, tenders, and project documentation

  • Working across heritage, education, commercial, and public sector projects

The Person:
  • Building Surveying and project-running experience
  • Good technical understanding of buildings and construction methods
  • Experience with specifications, tenders, and contract administration
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and general H&S compliance
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented
  • Commutable distance to Exeter
