Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company to recruit for an Electrical Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Exeter, Devon. The vital Electrical Technician role comes with a salary of 49,129 + up to 12% Bonus + Overtime + Private Medical + Pension + Benefits. Responsibilities and duties:
- Fault finding and maintaining electrical assets including motors, transformers, switchgear, drives and HV/LV plant
- Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices
- Assisting in plant developments and projects
- Supervising and setting to work on site contractors
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination
- To ensure the availability of plant spares
Professional qualifications:
- Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- 17th / 18th Edition wiring regulation qualification will be desired
- A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge:
- Hands-on maintenance experience with PLC systems, motors, variable speed drives, switchgear, etc.
- Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc.
- Prior experience working with high voltage equipment will be highly advantageous
- Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered for this opportunity
