Salary: DOE Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in Main Contracting? Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an Estimator to join a professional and growing construction contractor specialising in healthcare, commercial, and education projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close‑knitted and forward‑thinking pre‑construction team working on a variety of refurbishment and construction schemes ranging from small works through to multi‑million‑pound projects.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 3–5 years estimating experience within a main contracting environment
  • Experience within healthcare, commercial, or education sectors
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisational, negotiation, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Degree qualified or holds a construction‑related qualification
  • Good understanding of JCT/NEC forms of contract
  • Experience using SMM7 and/or NRM

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review tender documentation to identify subcontractor and material requirements
  • Prepare and issue subcontract tender enquiries
  • Assess and align subcontractor quotations
  • Produce competitive tender submissions using subcontract and first‑principles pricing methods
  • Identify pricing gaps and compile labour, plant, and material costings
  • Produce take‑offs for general construction works, including flooring, ceilings, and partitions
  • Prepare tender stage programmes
  • Price project preliminaries, including welfare, waste management, and site protection requirements
  • Identify and compile tender qualifications and exclusions
  • Support the wider pre‑construction team to ensure deadlines are achieved
  • Attend site visits and undertake nationwide tender surveys when required
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail throughout the tender process

  • Work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude
  • Be flexible to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays
  • Show commitment to professional development and industry knowledge
  • Be eligible to work within the UK
  • Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check as part of onboarding
