We're currently recruiting for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Reduction Specialist to support a Housing Solutions Transformation Programme focused on reducing Temporary Accommodation usage and improving move‑on outcomes for residents. The Temporary Accommodation Reduction Specialist role will lead a dedicated team focused on reducing the number of households in Temporary Accommodation through increased access to PRS accommodation, social housing opportunities and alternative housing pathways. The successful Temporary Accommodation Reduction Specialist will support service transformation, housing supply initiatives and operational improvement.
The Role
- Lead and manage a Temporary Accommodation Reduction Team.
- Develop move‑on pathways to reduce Temporary Accommodation usage and length of stay.
- Increase access to PRS accommodation and alternative housing solutions.
- Build relationships with landlords, providers, developers and housing partners.
- Identify barriers preventing move‑on and implement practical solutions.
- Support redesign of housing pathways, systems and operational processes.
- Lead transformation and service improvement initiatives linked to homelessness prevention and housing supply.
- Monitor performance data, produce reports and identify cost‑saving opportunities across Temporary Accommodation services.
- Work collaboratively with Housing, Adults Services, Children's Services and external agencies.
Key Requirements
- Significant experience within homelessness, housing solutions or Temporary Accommodation services.
- Experience leading teams and delivering service improvement.
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing duties.
- Experience developing move‑on pathways and reducing reliance on Temporary Accommodation.
- Experience working with PRS providers, landlords and accommodation partners.
- Experience managing complex housing cases and operational challenges.
- Experience using performance data to drive improvement.
- Transformation or change programme experience is desirable.
