The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the Environment Team on a range of projects linked to a 2.5 million Public Initiatives Fund. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering rejuvenation and improvement projects across parks, playgrounds and public open spaces, helping to create safer, more sustainable and community-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and manage procurement documentation for multiple projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with governance requirements.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones and reporting structures.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project and environmental risks.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, stakeholders and local communities.
  • Maintain accurate project records, financial reporting and compliance documentation.
  • Support initiatives focused on reducing anti-social behaviour and improving safety within parks and open spaces.
  • Coordinate with communications teams to promote projects and public engagement initiatives.
  • Arrange and lead stakeholder meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with the production of project specifications and procurement requirements.

Experience Required

  • Proven project management experience, ideally within parks, open spaces or environmental improvement projects.
  • Experience working on public realm, playground or regeneration initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and project governance.
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines and risk registers.
  • Understanding of community safety and anti-social behaviour reduction initiatives.
  • Experience in play space procurement, open space development and data management.
  • Lake management experience is desirable.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working: 3 days per week onsite required due to the nature of the role.
