Acting as the main technical link between procurement teams, suppliers, manufacturers, and customers, the Technical Manager will support sourcing decisions, supplier evaluation, product compliance, and technical product support across the business. A significant part of the role will focus on fasteners, fixings, and associated HVAC components, making this opportunity particularly well suited to candidates with strong experience in fasteners or related mechanical product categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Technical Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical specifications across the company’s HVAC and fastener product ranges, ensuring all products meet relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.
  • Working closely with procurement and sourcing teams, the successful candidate will provide technical guidance during supplier selection, product evaluation, and tender processes.
  • They will also review supplier documentation, certifications, and technical data to ensure compliance and accuracy across the product portfolio.
  • The role will involve supporting internal sales teams and customers with technical product advice, application guidance, and technical documentation, while also helping to resolve technical and quality-related issues with suppliers.
  • In addition, the Technical Manager will monitor changes in legislation and industry standards affecting HVAC products, fasteners, and associated components, ensuring the company remains compliant and commercially competitive.

Skills & Experience

  • Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, fasteners, fixings, and related mechanical components, together with experience working in a technical, product, compliance, or procurement-focused role.
  • The successful applicant will have the ability to interpret technical drawings and product specifications, alongside excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, and cross-functional teams within HVAC distribution, manufacturing, or technical product environments is highly desirable.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with relevant industry experience.

Key Relationships

The role will work closely with internal procurement, sales, operations, and quality teams, while also managing relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, certification bodies, and customers.
