CNC Programmer - 40,000 - 50,000 - Chelmsford
Chelmsford-based aerospace engineering manufacturer. Hermle and DMG MORI machines. Micron-level tolerances. This is a hands-on, production-focused role for a CNC Programmer who can independently program, set up, and run 5-axis milling operations, producing aerospace-grade components from day one.
This is a shop-floor role first, you'll be programming, proving out toolpaths, and machining precision parts, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and problem-solving.
Key responsibilities:- Independently program 5-axis milling machines for aerospace and high-precision components
- Set up jobs, select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds
- Prove out programs and troubleshoot machining issues on the shop floor
- Maintain high-quality standards with micron-level tolerances
- Improve processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong hands-on experience programming 5-axis milling machines (DMG MORI, Hermle, or equivalent)
- Confident in independently setting up and running jobs
- Solid understanding of metrology, GD&T, and high-precision machining
- Offline programming experience (NX, Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- Previous experience with aerospace or highly precise components
- 40,000 - 50,000 base salary
