Shift: 24/7 shift-based role working 12‑hour day and night shifts. Considering patterns such as 4‑on/4‑off and the Panama (2‑2‑3) rota; the final arrangement will be confirmed before your start date.
About the role:
Recruit electrical and mechanical engineers to support a transition to rotating shift patterns during the summer. Responsibilities include maintaining and servicing all processing machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and performing preventative maintenance to avoid production disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete repairs and breakdowns in a timely manner and perform root cause analysis to ensure corrective and preventative actions are completed.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Comply with all company Health & Safety rules, escalating any failures.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager and Manufacturing Managers.
- Demonstrate initiative and effective communication, taking lead when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, practices, and Safe Working Procedures.
- Support and mentor Electrical Apprentices on site.
About You:
Essential Requirements:
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Excellent IT skills
- Relevant degree and practical working knowledge
- Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a fast‑paced factory/manufacturing setting
- Methodical fault‑finding approach
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety rules, regulations and best practices
- Ability to prioritise workload and record information concisely
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
