Engineering Director with a background spanning engineering, master data management, AI & architecture & platform sought by a pioneering professional services scale‑up based near Nottingham. Operating as the number one technical decision‑maker, this Engineering Director will work closely with the board to re‑align and embed technology innovation with business impact to drive rapid growth.
Using their existing JavaScript and Azure stack knowledge, the Engineering Director will set delivery practices across observability, DevOps, agile and security whilst building LLM agents to foster a growth mindset around AI and spec‑driven development. They will work with board‑level stakeholders to quickly absorb and understand business challenges and objectives, building a team capable of delivering ground‑up solutions that deliver results in hours, not months.
Qualifications- A strong technical background spanning platform, architecture and engineering gained working in scale‑up environments
- A background in full‑stack JavaScript (Node, Next, React) engineering
- Solid Azure architecture expertise
- A disruptor and radical thinker who is constantly challenging and rewriting the norm
- Understanding of master data management
- Growth mindset on AI with the ability to build LLM agents and working knowledge of AI tooling (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)
- A business‑impact deliverer mindset
- Experience operating at an engineering leadership or director level
- Demonstrable thirst for learning across both business and technology
