Location: St Helens
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Working days: Mon – Thu 7am – 3.30pm, Fri 7am – 12.30pm.
Purpose of the role: Manufacturing and testing of cable assemblies, sub-assemblies and final products.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electrical components, wiring, and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
- Conduct basic testing and inspection of assembled units to ensure functionality and quality compliance.
- Identify and report faults, defects, or inconsistencies in materials or processes.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Work collaboratively with team members, team leader and supervisor to meet production targets.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Individual Requirements:
- Previous experience in electrical assembly or manufacturing (preferred but not essential).
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn.
