A well-established, multidisciplinary environmental and design consultancy is seeking an Ecologist to join its team based in Lockington. Key responsibilities

  • Undertaking a variety of habitat and protected species surveys
  • Producing high-quality ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments
  • Supporting project management and coordinating survey programmes
  • Advising clients on ecological constraints, mitigation, and enhancement opportunities
  • Contributing to biodiversity net gain strategies and habitat design
  • Mentoring junior team members where appropriate

Qualifications

  • A degree in Ecology or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in ecological consultancy or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
  • Experience with protected species surveys (one or more licences desirable)
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. working towards or holding CIEEM membership)
  • A full UK driving licence
