About the Project

A well-established regional contractor with a strong presence across the South Coast is looking to bring in a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial side of a £10 million public sector, commercial and leisure refurbishment project in Southampton. The project is entering a key pre-construction and procurement phase, and you'll play a hands-on role in shaping the commercial approach before supporting the scheme as it progresses on site. This is a 6/7-month contract position, with regular site involvement required, alongside hybrid working flexibility depending on workload and project needs.

The scheme is a large-scale commercial refurbishment, involving significant pre-construction input, trade procurement, and phased delivery. • Refurbishment works within an active commercial environment
  • Transition from pre-con into site delivery

Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and monthly cost reporting
  • Control variations, change management, and commercial risk
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and site team to support delivery
  • Support final account preparation and commercial close-out

About You

  • Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main or regional contractor background
  • Proven experience on commercial refurbishment projects (£5m-£15m)
  • Strong understanding of pre-construction and procurement processes
