We are looking for a passionate and motivated Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) to join SuperCare and support children and young people with complex needs, including SEN and SEMH. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Career Teacher to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a highly rewarding setting, with strong support and development opportunities. This is not a traditional classroom-based role. You will work closely with young people on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both within our education provision and across our residential settings, delivering tailored and engaging learning experiences. You will play a key role in re-engaging young people with education, supporting their confidence, and helping them achieve positive outcomes despite complex backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and tailored lessons in 1:1 and small group settings
- Support the planning, delivery and review of individualised learning programmes
- Support the personal development and behaviour of young people in a SEN and SEMH setting
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Work with children and young people aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, educational meetings and reporting (with support)
- Maintain accurate records and support educational administration
- Work closely with residential care staff to provide a consistent and holistic approach
- Adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Travel between sites where required
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people
- A proactive and positive attitude towards learning and development
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to engage and motivate young people
- Resilience, adaptability and a solution-focused mindset
- Hold a full UK Driving License
Desirable
- Experience working with children or young people (placement or voluntary experience welcomed)
- An interest in SEN / SEMH settings
- An understanding of behaviour management approaches
Working Pattern
- Full time role based on standard school hours 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday
- Flexibility required to meet the needs of the young people and service
