Immediate Start Freelance £400-500 per day Water Sector Brighton

You will be joining a leading UK infrastructure and construction business, delivering work on a long-term regulated infrastructure programme near Brighton. This multi-year programme offers strong stability and the opportunity to be part of a critical investment project within the utilities sector. The role is based in the Brighton area with a hybrid working pattern.

Your new role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of infrastructure projects within a regulated utilities environment. You will be responsible for managing costs, preparing valuations and variations, supporting subcontractor management, and ensuring robust financial control throughout the project lifecycle. This role will initially be offered on a contract basis (inside IR35), with a clear temp-to-perm pathway after approximately 15 weeks, providing an excellent opportunity for longer-term career development.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor (QS)
  • Demonstrable experience in commercial and cost management
  • Experience within water/utilities is advantageous
  • Candidates from similar sectors such as environmental, aviation, or nuclear will also be considered
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work 3 days per week on-site in the Brighton area
