We are recruiting for a skilled and dependable School Caretaker to support the day-to-day running of a busy school site in the Dudley area. This role is suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and can work independently to ensure the premises remain safe, secure, and fully operational.

You will be responsible for the overall maintenance and presentation of the school, ensuring a safe environment for staff and pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the security of the school, including daily opening and locking procedures
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep of the site
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and reporting any hazards
  • Completing regular checks of the building and grounds
  • Liaising with external contractors and monitoring work carried out on-site
  • Maintaining outdoor areas, including pathways and entrances
  • Assisting with room setups for school functions and events
  • Acting promptly on maintenance requests and site-related issues
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities role within a school
  • Practical maintenance skills and a hands-on approach
  • Knowledge of site health & safety procedures
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work without supervision
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the school

Important Information: No training will be provided - applicants must be experienced and ready to start immediately. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required, or willingness to obtain one at your own expense.
