VGC Group are looking for experienced Drainage Ganger to start on a project in Water Orton. This contract is available to start ASAP and we can offer up to 3 years worth of work.

Qualifications: Blue CSCS NVQ LVL 2 Skilled Card, SSSTS, CPCS preferable.
Your role as a Drainage Ganger will be based in Water Orton and will consist of:
- Lead and supervise a team carrying out drainage and groundwork operations on site.
- Oversee the installation of drainage systems including pipes, manholes, gullies, and associated groundwork.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and experience.
- Ensure all drainage works are completed to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Read and interpret site drawings, utility plans, and drainage layouts.
- Carry out and supervise excavation, trenching, pipe laying, and backfilling activities safely and efficiently.
- Monitor progress of works and ensure tasks are completed within project deadlines.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Perform risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards on site.
- Coordinate with site management, plant operators, and subcontractors to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Inspect completed drainage works to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work activities, progress, and any incidents.
- Ensure all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow all safety protocols and report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with setting out and ensuring levels and gradients are achieved correctly for drainage installation.
Based in Water Orton remuneration for this role is £20.67 per hour PAYE, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
