VGC Group are looking for experienced Drainage Ganger to start on a project in Water Orton. This contract is available to start ASAP and we can offer up to 3 years worth of work.

Role: Drainage Ganger

Location: Water Orton

Salary: £20.67 per hour PAYE

Hours: Monday - Friday - 7.30 - 5.30

Contract: Contract Type

Experience: 2 years +

Qualifications: Blue CSCS NVQ LVL 2 Skilled Card, SSSTS, CPCS preferable.

Your role as a Drainage Ganger will be based in Water Orton and will consist of:

  • Lead and supervise a team carrying out drainage and groundwork operations on site.
  • Oversee the installation of drainage systems including pipes, manholes, gullies, and associated groundwork.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and experience.
  • Ensure all drainage works are completed to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret site drawings, utility plans, and drainage layouts.
  • Carry out and supervise excavation, trenching, pipe laying, and backfilling activities safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor progress of works and ensure tasks are completed within project deadlines.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards on site.
  • Coordinate with site management, plant operators, and subcontractors to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Inspect completed drainage works to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, progress, and any incidents.
  • Ensure all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all safety protocols and report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with setting out and ensuring levels and gradients are achieved correctly for drainage installation.

Based in Water Orton remuneration for this role is £20.67 per hour PAYE, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
