At Dorking Manor our Care Assistants are called Homemakers. More than support workers, care assistants or healthcare assistants – they are carers and companions all in one. They have the time to get to know our residents and are trusted to give each person the care they need, in the way they want. Joining us at Dorking Manor, our luxury care home that provides residential, dementia, and nursing care for older people, you'll be part of a team that is genuinely passionate about the health and well-being of our residents.
Working Pattern: 12 hour shifts and working alternate weekends on a rota basis.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medication responsibly.
- Help make residents' beds.
- Arrange family meals and bring residents to their loved ones.
- Take residents to the beauty salon or other outings.
- Provide individualized care tailored to each resident, focusing on the tiny details that make them unique.
- Spend more time with fewer residents to make a real difference in their lives.
- Support other team members to maintain a kind and supportive environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, care assistant, carer, home care assistant or domiciliary care assistant is welcome but not required.
- If you have no work experience in care but are interested in helping people live happy lives, we will guide you to a fantastic care assistant career at Hamberley.
- Demonstrated passion, empathy, and dedication to help residents live their lives to the fullest.
- Willingness to learn and undergo training, including NVQ qualifications and further clinical training if you want to specialise in areas such as dementia and nutrition.
