TeacherActive is proud to be working with a co‑educational secondary school based in East London, who are looking to appoint a Design Technology Teacher. This faith school welcomes a diverse staff and student population and is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential, regardless of their background. SEN provision at this school is strong, with good support from leadership.
The school is looking to take on a Design Technology Teacher on a 1‑year fixed term contract, starting from 1 September 2026, working 4 days per week across the full KS3 and KS4 curriculum. Expertise delivering GCSE Food Technology is essential for this role. A teacher who could offer an additional subject outside of Design and Technology would be considered for a full‑time contract, otherwise this role will be 0.8 FTE.
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge in Design and Technology, including Food Technology
- Hold QTS and have a minimum 2 years teaching experience
- Foster positive relationships with your students, setting and maintaining high expectations
- Set and maintain high standards for yourself and your students
- Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and leadership
- Communicate clearly and confidently, verbally and in writing
- Hold UK Right to Work
