The predicted salary is between 28000 - 35000 £ per year.

This role is with a client who provides a design and detailing service for a wide range of clients and schemes both locally and nationally. Their diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects up to multi-million-pound schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Technical support: Assisting in the preparation of technical drawings, design calculations, and other related documentation (e.g. drawing registers) for civil engineering schemes.
  • Drafting, detailing and modelling: Using AutoCAD and other design software to produce detailed design drawings and models.
  • Design development: Support the design process for infrastructure elements of a civil engineering scheme such as roads, drainage and earthworks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Quality assurance: Produce clear, well-presented drawings and other engineering documents and support the review and checking of drawings to ensure they meet internal quality standards.
  • Client liaison: Occasionally assist in client meetings and design team meetings, presentations, and reporting as directed by senior team members.
  • Site visits: Attend site visits under the supervision of senior team members to obtain site information and inspect progress of schemes (as required).
  • Continuous learning: Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance technical skills, industry knowledge and understanding of role.

Qualifications and training

Technicians will be encouraged to attend continuous professional development training offered to all employees by both internal and external trainers. Technicians will also be required to attend mandatory training provided.

Software

Technicians will have the opportunity to work on various industry software including; AutoCAD (including Vehicle Tracking) - for drafting and detailing, Civil 3D - for 3D ground and road modelling, Microdrainage - for drainage design, PDS - for road design, drainage design, traffic sign design and road marking design.
