A highly regarded independent preparatory school in West London is seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Head (Pastoral) to join their senior leadership team on a maternity cover basis from September 2026. This is a key leadership role within a school known for its nurturing environment, strong academic outcomes, and commitment to the wellbeing and personal development of every pupil.

The Role:

  • Lead on all aspects of pastoral care and pupil wellbeing across the school
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture
  • Oversee behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral systems
  • Work closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure high standards of care and communication
  • Support and contribute to the wider strategic leadership of the school

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have substantial experience in a pastoral leadership role, ideally within an independent or prep school setting
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Be an empathetic, approachable, and confident leader
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
