Are you an experienced leader within Domestic Abuse, Refuge, IDVA or Supported Accommodation services? Do you have a passion for supporting BAME women and children affected by domestic abuse and crisis? We are recruiting for a DA Refuge Manager to lead a specialist refuge service in Leicester supporting women from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME) and refugee communities. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected women's organisation providing culturally sensitive support, emergency accommodation and community-based services to women and children fleeing abuse and violence.

About the Role

You will oversee the day-to-day management of a Leicester refuge service consisting of 4 houses with 18 bed spaces, managing a team of approximately 3-4 staff members across full-time and part-time services whilst overseeing the IDVA provision. The service supports both single women and women with children and works closely with immigration solicitors, housing providers and community agencies to provide holistic support.

Responsibilities

  • Managing refuge staff and operational delivery
  • Safeguarding and complex case management
  • Supporting women affected by domestic abuse and trauma
  • Managing rotas, compliance and reporting
  • Senior on-call responsibilities
  • Working closely with external agencies and community organisations
  • Supporting culturally sensitive and trauma-informed services

What We're Looking For

  • Previous management experience within Domestic Abuse, Refuge, Supported Housing or Safeguarding services
  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessment knowledge
  • Experience supporting BAME communities
  • Senior on-call experience
  • Managerial qualification essential
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex and emotionally demanding situations

Essential Requirement

Applicants must speak English plus at least 1 community/BAME language due to the needs of the service users and the culturally sensitive support provided.
