In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in First Class and Business Class seating for wide‑body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams based in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales, and Brackley, England. Working as part of the Electrical Design Department in Cwmbran, South Wales, you will manage teams producing electrical installation models and detail drawings for new product and platform designs. You will also be responsible for checking and approving all electrical design work to meet company, regulatory and customer requirements.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Electrical Design team at the Cwmbran site in South Wales.
Your Role
Responsible for producing electrical installation models and detail drawings using various software packages for new product and platform designs for First and Business Class seats and systems.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- 3D harness design, electrical schematics and block diagrams
- Design and integration of electrical systems within aircraft seats
- Generate 2D/3D electrical installation and systems designs using CATIA V5 and PLM software
- Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process
- Participate in validation of the product (using methods such as prototyping, testing, etc.)
- Follow and contribute to the development of Best Practice guidelines
What You'll Bring
- Ideally a degree in a relevant engineering subject
- Alternatively, an HNC/HND or equivalent qualification as part of an Electrical Apprenticeship with demonstrated post‑qualification experience in a technical role
- Experience using 3D CAD & AutoCAD electrical software packages or equivalent
- Ability to operate at a senior level and mentor or support more junior team members
