Overview
You’ll be joining a public sector organisation within the Estates and Facilities service, responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of capital works projects across a multi‑site operational estate. The team supports a range of specialised buildings including operational facilities, offices and infrastructure assets, ensuring projects are delivered in line with organisational strategy, compliance and performance standards. This is a highly collaborative environment focused on modernising estate assets, improving functionality and supporting frontline service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of capital works projects across the estate
- Develop project briefs aligned to estate strategy and business needs
- Manage consultants and contractors in line with procurement and contractual frameworks
- Deliver projects to agreed cost, programme and quality targets
- Act within CDM regulations and oversee compliance across all projects
- Manage NEC/JCT contracts and oversee commercial delivery
- Report on project progress, risks and costs to senior stakeholders
- Coordinate project teams and lead stakeholder engagement
- Support business case development and project planning
- Contribute to the long‑term estate strategy and capital investment planning
Qualifications
- Degree in construction, estates, engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong experience delivering capital works / construction projects
- Knowledge of procurement, contract management (NEC/JCT) and project delivery
- Experience managing consultants, contractors and multi‑disciplinary teams
- Understanding of CDM, building regulations and health & safety compliance
- Experience managing budgets, programmes and commercial risk
- Strong stakeholder management and reporting skills
- Professional membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB) or Prince2 desirable
