Location: Cwmbran, On Site.
Your Role
- Manage and deliver electrical certification programmes as per agreed schedules.
- Coordinate externally with regulatory agencies (EASA, FAA, Boeing, Airbus and various integrators) to certify electrical components installed in aircraft seats.
- Review and analyse electrical design data (installation drawings, wire diagrams, etc.) to ensure successful integration of subsystems within seat architecture.
- Carry out the electrical certification activities and projects relating to seats and seat surrounding furniture assemblies.
- Help maintain high-quality standard of certification documents and ensure on-time delivery at all times.
- Meet OTD of all certification documentation with a right-first-time approach.
- Ensure templates of electrical specifications of all LRU’s used on the seat/suites are in place.
- Liaise externally with Boeing and Airbus to qualify electrical LRU’s and systems and solve certification solutions.
- Support the Senior Electrical Certification Engineer in planning and executing certification activities at SGB.
- Generate, update and deliver certification tasks and documents across Safran Seats products, including electrical lighting, actuation, heating, IFE systems and other passenger comfort features; extend to Seats France and Seats US programmes; travel to UK & internationally required.
Qualifications
Essential- Qualified to a minimum of a degree in electrical engineering field. Alternatively, HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with demonstrated knowledge/experience in electrical certification and/or aircraft interior equipment installation.
- Experience of EMI/EMC testing/certification.
- Working knowledge of methods to manufacture and test electrical and electronic components and assemblies.
- Knowledge of aircraft seat and furniture electrical certification.
- Experience with Boeing and Airbus specifications for electrical equipment installation and certification.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements of EASA and FAA for certification and qualification of electrical systems and equipment.
