My client is seeking a dynamic, commercially minded Crime Paralegal to join their Hounslow, Greater London office. The successful Crime Paralegal will join a friendly and supportive firm that has established itself as one of the leading Criminal Law firms in the area, attracting challenging, high-profile matters across general and serious crime and fraud. The firm works both legal aid cases and represents clients that are privately paying; therefore, they expect a high level of advice and representation. Privately paying clients expect nothing but the best, a service to be proud to deliver around the clock, and the successful candidate will be expected to flex to the needs of the business when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide key support to fee earners in criminal defence matters.
  • Assist with both legal aid and privately paying cases as required.
  • Work in a busy, professional and friendly practice environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience as a paralegal in a busy criminal defence practice.
  • Be local (West London based) and within 45 minutes of their office.
  • If you are a Police Station Accredited Representative, this will be advantageous to your application.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment and interest in criminal defence.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Legal research skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, and the ability to compose written communications to agencies and clients to a high standard.
  • Computer literacy; offices are fully computerized and use an integrated practice case management system.
