Join Our Team as a Material Handler! Are you ready to take on an exciting role in the life sciences industry? We're looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our dynamic team in Cramlington! Position Details

  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Hourly Rate: 16.15
  • Working Pattern: Full Time
  • Shift Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off (including weekends)
  • Shift Hours: 06:00 - 18:00

About the Role

As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming raw materials against documentation.
  • Labeling, storing, and organizing materials according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Issuing raw materials to production based on work orders and batch records.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting cycle counts.
  • Ensuring compliance with GMP, EHS, and safety standards.
  • Operating material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts) if certified.
  • Keeping raw material storage areas clean and organized.
  • Identifying and reporting damaged or expired materials.
  • Supporting audits and inspections as needed.
  • Following FIFO/FEFO inventory practices.

What We're Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in material handling, warehousing, or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP or regulated environments is a plus.
  • Forklift or pallet jack certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions.
  • A team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift and move materials (typically up to 40-50 lbs).
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
