Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Thermal Mechanical Engineer on a contract basis to join their team in Cowes. This role involves working on the design, integration, and testing of complex mechanical systems within maritime services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of thermal management systems, including heat exchangers
- Conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis
- Oversee the design, build, test, and deployment of composite structural materials
- Serve as the Mechanical Design Authority for Future Radar Products
- Ensure compliance with relevant Standards and apply them effectively
- Engage in all engineering lifecycle phases, from requirements capture to in-service support
- Provide subject matter expertise in Thermal Mechanical Systems and related mechanical domains
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives
Job Requirements
- Experience in the design and implementation of thermal management systems
- Knowledge of heat exchangers and composite structural materials design
- Familiarity with Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis
- Understanding of mechanical engineering lifecycles from requirements to support
