Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of complex, high-profile programmes within a secure government environment based in Corsham. This role will involve leading projects through the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and senior stakeholders to drive effective governance, risk management, planning, and delivery assurance across a sensitive programme environment. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must hold active DV clearance, be a sole UK national with a valid British passport, and be eligible to hold STRAP clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Governance
- Lead and manage projects from initiation through to completion.
- Oversee day-to-day project planning, controls, governance, and reporting activities.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of business cases, including OBC/FBC documentation.
- Ensure delivery milestones, objectives, and outcomes are achieved within agreed constraints.
- Apply appropriate project management methodologies and governance frameworks.
- Support effective change control and decision-making processes throughout project delivery.
- Risk, Issues & Controls
- Manage RAID processes, including proactive identification and mitigation of risks and issues.
- Track and report project performance, dependencies, and delivery progress against milestones.
- Produce high-quality reporting and management information for senior stakeholders.
- Support assurance activities and contribute to review notes and governance documentation where required.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across a large and varied stakeholder landscape.
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives, priorities, and delivery expectations.
- Support collaborative working across operational, technical, and programme functions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Promote continuous improvement across project delivery and governance processes.
- Contribute to lessons learned activities and drive best practice within the project environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience delivering complex projects within secure or highly regulated environments.
- Strong all-round Project Management experience, ideally with 5+ years managing complex delivery programmes.
- Experience developing or supporting Outline Business Cases (OBC) and Full Business Cases (FBC).
- Strong experience in RAID management, planning, scheduling, and governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to analyse project data and produce high-quality reporting and management information.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation, and decision-making capability.
- Active DV clearance is essential.
- Sole UK national with a valid British passport.
- Eligible to hold STRAP clearance.
- No connections to restricted Tier 1 or Tier 2 countries.
Desirable
- Experience producing governance review notes or assurance documentation.
- Previous experience working within government, defence, or secure programme environments.
- Knowledge of formal project delivery frameworks and governance methodologies.
Qualifications

- Recognised Project Delivery qualification, such as:
- APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ), or MSP Foundation, PRINCE2 Foundation, or equivalent
- Equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
