The Role
As a Night Shift Multi‑Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of production equipment during night operations. Working 12‑hour shifts, you’ll play a critical role in keeping downtime to a minimum and ensuring production targets are consistently met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively
- Supporting production teams with breakdown resolution and equipment optimisation
- Working on a range of automated FMCG production and packaging machinery
- Driving continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
- Completing accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance standards are met
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and food safety at all times
About You
You will be a skilled and proactive engineer with strong multi‑skilled capability and experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You should be confident working independently on nights and taking ownership of technical issues. You will ideally have:
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills
- FMCG, food, or high‑volume manufacturing experience
- PLC fault‑finding ability (advantageous)
- A calm, solution‑focused approach under pressure
- Good communication skills and strong teamwork when handing over shifts
