Location: Corby

Pay: £18.00 Days / £19.50 Nights / £21 Sat / £22 Sun

The Role:

  • Average shift length: 10-12 hours
  • 7-day operation (working week runs Sunday to Saturday)
  • AM shifts: typically start between 05:00-07:00
  • PM shifts: typically start between 13:00-19:00
  • Delivery area spans:
    • North: Manchester/Wakefield/Scunthorpe/Preston - Usually night drivers
    • West: South Wales
    • South: London (Outer)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a mixture of products such as crisps, spices, glass jars and cleaning products
  • It is the driver's responsibility to ensure the load is strapped securely, depending on the product
  • Occasionally certain sites will require you to use a pump truck to unload
  • Most sites, no hand balling involved
  • Safely operate and drive HGV 1 (C E) vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
  • Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics team members
  • Shifts are booked daily with shift confirmation times texted to you the day before
  • No driving assessment on site, but paperwork to be complete before first shift

Requirements:

  • Valid HGV 1 C E licence
  • Up-to-date Tacho Digi Card and an up-to-date DCPC Card
  • Min 12 months HGV Class 1 C E experience
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • We will accept up to 6 points on your licence, but no DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements.
