gap construction are proud to be representing a well established food manufacturing business in their search for a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join their team. This is a key, site based role where you will play a hands on part in maintaining and improving health, safety and environmental standards across a busy production environment. You will be instrumental in driving a positive safety culture, influencing behaviours and ensuring compliance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out site audits, toolbox talks and support the review and development of risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and non conformances, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
  • Support more serious investigations including near misses and major incidents
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of ISO45001 and ISO14001 systems and documentation
  • Promote a strong health, safety, environmental and wellbeing culture across site
  • Act as lead HSE advisor in the absence of the Manager
  • Monitor safety data, producing monthly reports and trend analysis
  • Chair monthly HSE committee meetings
  • Deliver engaging health and safety training to operational teams
  • Manage hazard observation reporting and identify trends for improvement
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business

About You

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)
  • IOSH Managing Safety
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally food or FMCG
  • Working knowledge of ISO45001 and ISO14001
  • Strong understanding of behavioural safety principles
  • Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels
  • Analytical and methodical in your approach
  • Well organised with strong attention to detail
  • A proactive team player who can also work independently

  • IOSH membership
  • Experience delivering health and safety training
