Fabricator / Welder - Cookstown
Pay: 18.00- 19.00 per hour depending on experience
Temporary, temp-to-perm or permanent opportunities available.
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a busy and well-established manufacturing business based in Cookstown.
Shift patterns:
- Night shift - 4-day working week: Monday to Wednesday: 15:45 - 02:15; Thursday: 15:45 - 01:15
- Day shift: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30; Friday: earlier finish, typically around 13:00 or 15:30 depending on site arrangement
Overtime is frequently available depending on production schedules and customer demand.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricating components from engineering drawings
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and welding symbols
- Measuring, preparing and checking materials before fabrication
- Tack welding and welding materials together to a high standard
- Working with metal components within a production/manufacturing environment
- Ensuring work is accurate, clean and completed to quality standards
- Working to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Working as part of a team while also using your own initiative
Ideal candidate:
- Previous fabrication experience
- Welding experience, ideally within a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of welding symbols
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Strong health and safety awareness
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Experience within heavy equipment, plant machinery, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, structural fabrication or similar manufacturing environments would be a strong advantage.
- An understanding of lean manufacturing principles would also be beneficial.
