An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Document Controller to join a leading and rapidly growing M&E contractor delivering high profile construction projects across Central London. Renowned for delivering complex mechanical and electrical packages on prestigious commercial developments, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, technical excellence and successful project delivery across the built environment sector.
This is a site based role located in Canary Wharf, supporting the delivery of a high-end banking refurbishment project. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing project documentation, ensuring information is accurate, controlled and distributed efficiently across project teams, consultants, subcontractors and client stakeholders within a fast‑paced live construction environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and control all project documentation including drawings, RFIs, technical submissions, O&M manuals and project correspondence.
- Ensure the latest revisions of drawings and documents are issued to project teams, subcontractors and consultants.
- Maintain accurate document registers and strict version control procedures.
- Upload, distribute and track documentation through document management systems.
- Monitor and track RFIs, technical submissions and document approvals to ensure deadlines are met.
- Support site teams with document retrieval and management requirements.
- Ensure all documentation complies with project procedures and company standards.
- Maintain audit trails and records for all project documentation.
- Assist with the compilation and coordination of handover documentation and O&M manuals.
- Support project meetings through preparation and distribution of reports and document packs.
- Identify and resolve document control issues or delays that may impact project delivery.
- Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction or M&E sector.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation processes.
- Experience working on live construction or refurbishment projects in a site-based environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with site and office teams.
