Right Match Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a well-established and international organisation based in Rainham, Essex to recruit a forward-thinking Compliance Technologist to join their team. This is an exciting, full-time and fixed 9 months maternity cover contract role.
Overall purpose of job: Champion Technical compliance to food safety, legal requirements and quality standards by ensuring successful management of specifications and suppliers, and supporting internal compliance processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- To maintain and improve the company's Health and Safety, Food Safety and Quality standards, and the requirements of any accreditation (ie. BRCGS, FEMAS, etc.), legislative, and customer requirements.
- To work in compliance with the company's Quality Policy and support the company's Health & Safety and Food Safety & Quality Culture.
- To operate in line with the requirements detailed within the company's policies and practices detailed within the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Be a champion for food safety & quality throughout the business.
- Manage, record and monitor consumer/customer complaints. Facilitate investigation, closure and trending.
- Manage and maintain raw material and finished product specifications.
- Manage and maintain documentation relating to suppliers and raw materials.
- Support the artwork process, including artwork approvals and pack copy creation.
- Support Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) & Damaged Material Reporting (DMR) processes, ensuring thorough & appropriate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Support administrative activities such as sampling, calibration, consumable monitoring & restocking etc.
- Play an active role in solving quality issues, continuous improvement programmes, and other quality and/or Food Safety projects.
- Identify, develop and implement Food Safety and/or Quality policies and procedures as required, alongside relevant business stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support monthly trending of identified KPI's.
- Create the monthly Technical communication and share with internal stakeholders.
- Participate in external and third-party audits as required.
- Co-ordinate and support internal audit activities such as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits, Glass & Hard Plastic (GHP) audits and QMS audits as required.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Support the business' Food Safety & Quality Culture plan.
- Support continuous improvement programs, and other quality and/or Food Safety projects.
- Support for Technical Department and/or other business functions as and when required.
- Undertake any other duties, as considered by the business to be within scope of role.
Qualifications/Experience required:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within a similar role and/or industry.
- HACCP level 2.
- Aware of food safety regulations, BRCGS Requirements, and best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer-based skills.
Desirables:
- Bachelor's degree in food science or other related field.
- Food Safety Level 2.
- Experience of Thermal Processing activities.
- Audit trained (Internal or Lead Auditor).
